New Building at Astro

If you have stopped by Astro in the past couple of months, you probably noticed our new building! This has been a long time coming, with a very needed addition of production space and a much large breakroom.  The production space now houses the complete welding department set up with over 20 modern TIG and MIG welding machines and overhead cranes.   A staff of 15 welders on 2 shifts are employed and welding on a nice variety of projects.     

 

 

Welding isn’t the only thing going on in the new building. Our new 1,200 square foot breakroom has several unique features that makes it a great place for employees to take a break, enjoy lunch, or gather for a company meeting.  There is plenty of room for employees to spread out and relax.  Complete with a full kitchen, employees can throw a pizza in the oven for lunch or use the stovetop for a meal.  Serving a company meal is also easier and more comfortable in the new space.  The breakroom also sports a few custom touches.  One is the custom ceiling system of stainless steel perforated panels that we designed and fabricated. In addition, our employees are able to enjoy a custom art installation created by Ellyn Valdes.  We look forward to long and continued use of the space.
