Project Manager – Architectural Metals
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects involving architectural metals, including our Stellarcraft brand. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent communication skills, and extensive experience with metal fabrication and installation processes. This role requires close collaboration with clients, drafters, procurement, and production teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Execution:
- Manage all phases of architectural metal projects, including design, fabrication, and installation.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Client & Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, contractors, and vendors.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, addressing concerns and resolving issues proactively.
- Facilitate meetings to align project goals with stakeholders’ expectations.
- Team Coordination:
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure constructability and feasibility of designs.
- Work closely with fabricators, installers, and subcontractors to coordinate timelines and deliverables.
- Conduct site visits to resolve field issues as they arise.
- Budget & Cost Management:
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
- Review and approve vendor quotes, material orders, and subcontractor bids.
- Track and report on project costs, identifying opportunities for cost-saving measures.
- Quality Control & Risk Management:
- Oversee quality assurance processes during fabrication and installation.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure proper documentation of all changes, approvals, and inspections.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in project management, specifically in architectural metals, metal fabrication, or a related industry.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
- Strong knowledge of metal materials, finishes, and fabrication techniques.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Excel, Trello, Procore, or equivalent software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in Project Management (PMP) or equivalent.
- Familiarity with CAD software or other design tools.

Architectural Designer/Drafter
We are looking for a full-time Architectural Designer to join our team. StellarCraft is a division of Astro Metal Craft, a premier metal fabrication manufacturer located in Hanover, MN.
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Transform an initial product concept or work off architectural drawings to create 3D models using Revit, Inventor, or SolidWorks.
- Create manufacturing working drawings from 3D models which include dimensions, isometric, and exploded views along with information required to manufacture.
- Designing and detailing stairs, handrail, balcony systems, fencing, screens, miscellaneous metals and ornamental metals.
- Comply with all applicable codes and contract specifications.
- Create approval, fabrication, erection drawings and bill of materials for misc. metal projects.
- Modifies existing designs based on project manager requirements.
- Check/redline the work of other drafters.
- Work within engineering team to prepare jobs for shop release.
Requirements:
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Drafting/Graphic Design, Engineering or Architectural field.
- 3-5+ years working experience in the field of architectural design
- Must be extremely proficient in Revit and/or Autodesk Inventor for modeling and detailing of fabricated metal products.
- SolidWorks experience.
- Ability to read architectural drawings to create miscellaneous metal drawings.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong architectural background with a blend of creativity and practicality while adhering to structural and budgetary limits.
- Read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
- Work with project engineers and architects to interpret/resolve design issues.
- Must have mechanical aptitude for how industrial / architectural products are assembled.
- Up to date on architectural trends in the industry
- Must be familiar with fabrication and manufacturing processes related to machining, sheet metal, and welding.
- Must be proficient in designing parts, weldments, and sheet metal parts.
- Must have strong attention to detail, and organizational skills, working in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Must have strong basic computer skills and a competent level of experience in MS Word and Excel.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and work well in a team environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and must have strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude.
- Work closely with fabrication to interpret/resolve layout and/or detail issues.
- Perform field measurements to translate into custom layouts and fabrication drawings, as required.
