Custom Screw Conveyor Design
No two materials behave exactly the same. Factors such as bulk density, flow, thickness, abrasiveness, moisture content, and temperature all influence conveyor design. Our team evaluates the material and operating requirements to determine the optimal flighting configuration for each application.
Standard Conveying Systems: For most bulk material handling applications, standard pitch single-flight conveyors provide efficient and reliable movement of material between process points, hoppers, bins, and equipment.
Metering and Dispensing Conveyors: Metering conveyors are designed to provide controlled, repeatable product flow for batching, packaging, and processing operations. Flighting geometry and drive systems are optimized to achieve precise discharge rates.
Mixing Conveyors: Custom flight configurations can be incorporated to blend materials while they are being conveyed, reducing the need for separate mixing equipment.
Thermal Screw Conveyors: Thermal screw conveyors transfer heat while moving material through the process. Jacketed troughs and specialized flighting designs can heat or cool products during conveying.
Fine Powders and Free-Flowing Materials: Materials such as powders, flour, cement, and similar products often benefit from shorter pitch flighting. Reduced pitch minimizes surging and improves flow control.
Sticky or Cohesive Materials: Products that tend to pack, bridge, or adhere to surfaces may require ribbon flighting or shaftless designs. These configurations reduce buildup while maintaining consistent material movement.
